Caitlyn was an aspiring hair stylist though she suffered from a congenital heart disorder that required a pacemaker. A few weeks into their year long relationship, the couple had full-blown heroin addictions. They were able to maintain the appearance of a normal relationship with their nice apartment and good looks but, with the threat of eviction looming, their facade is beginning to crumble. Caitlyn's mom, Sarah, reaches out to Kristina to save them from losing everything - including Caitlyn's life. With time working against her, Kristina works to breakdown the codependency in Caitlyn's family that's been jeopardizing her recovery and to mend the broken family relationships left in the wake of Gianluca's addiction.
