As the police closed in, Elliot pulled a gun and held Iris hostage. Barrett offered to fly the helicopter that Elliot demanded in exchange for Iris' safe release. Ginny and Ryan quarreled when he was prepared to let Barrett pilot the helicopter. Iris attempted to talk Elliot down, but he flashed back to the jungles of Cambodia. Dennis wanted to try to talk his father, though Paige begged him not to as it was too dangerous. After Ryan agreed, Elliot refused to speak with Dennis, so Alex went instead.
