In October of 1986, the original owner, Larry Carletta, sold the business and moved out of the state. The new owners, John and Gina Lee, were a young married couple who were passionate about movies. The Lees opened three subsequent locations, which were successful for decades. The only remaining Video Depot is now the Newhall location. It is also one of the last handful of movie rental stores in all of Los Angeles. Video Depot is still in business due to the incredible connection the Lees have with their regular customers, who continue to support the store despite all odds, and hope that it will stay open.
