Yoseph, the eldest, comes out of hiding to look for food in the forest, where he meets his friend Yaakov. While Yoseph is in the forest the Nazis discover the bunker and kill his family. Yaakov tries to prevent Yoseph from returning, so that he too will not be killed. In 1946, in Eretz Israel, Yosef is called Eliav and has a new identity- a commander of the underground. One day a new immigrant joins Eliav's unit- Yaakov. Yaakov tries to get closer to Eliav, who for him is the only familiarity in a foreign land, and Eliav tries to stay away from Yaakov, whose very presence amplifies the nightmares of the past and the pain that haunts him, until Eliav can no longer hide behind his masks.
