The ...See moreLate at night, when everyone goes home to their families after a long day, there is one place that always stays awake. Always, except for Shabbat anyway.... In the city center of Jerusalem, a small convenience store working 24/6. The cashier is Bilby ("Pipi Long Stockings" ), 25 years old, a small women who wears her hair in two wild braids and a crazy fringe, this is why the costumers give her this nickname- she's silly and energetic and is completely disconnected from the place she somehow got caught up in. Everyone knows Bilby thanks to her job at the convenience store, therefore she doesn't have much privacy, this usually doesn't bother her so much, and she loves to serve and give attention to her customers, but when she discovers that she is pregnant, thoughts about building a real family start to wake up inside of her. She can't wait to tell her boyfriend about the exciting news, but his thoughts are cut off by Bilbies boss at the store, who won't stop badgering her for her attention at work. And so, Bilby is stuck at the convenience store instead of being happy with her partner about their new little family to be. Nili enters the shop- a steady customer who Bilby has befriended, along with her dog, Audry. Nili enters, screaming, and places her dead dog's body in front of Bilby on the counter. Everyone is shocked, Bilby's heart reaches out to her, and even though her boss is shouting at her, Bilby takes the dog corps and leaves the shop. On the way out, she sees her boyfriend, all packed up, leaving her... Bilby, the big dreamer, who has lost everything she had in one moment, stays alone with the pregnancy and Nili. Nili gives Bilby empathy, and in exchange Bilby organizes a funeral for Audry. She invites all of the friends from the street around the shop, and they bury the dog by her favorite tree- her favorite place to pee. Bilby is so overwhelmed with excitement from this family of strangers who has gotten together to give their condolences to someone in pain , and decides to share with them her pregnancy, as the dog is being sent off. A washing machine and inside of it colorfully clothes being tossed around in circles, on top of it a small baby sits , vibrating, Bilby brings the baby into her world. See less
