Not only against fierce predators and raging storms, but also against the laws of the tribe, his father's expectations (Babba, the tribe's chief), unrequited love, and bullies who are always waiting for a chance to humiliate him. But Ubu has a secret talent: he is the first painter in history. When he draws on the cave walls, he creates art, satire, and mostly trouble. If his father discovers that Ubu is the mysterious artist immortalizing the tribe's most embarrassing moments, he'll be banished to the forest forever. Luckily, Ubu has Ringo, his loyal, optimistic, and easygoing best friend (the complete opposite of Ubu's neurotic nature), and Booga, a brave, smart, and beautiful hunter whom Ubu is deeply in love with. Unfortunately, Booga is in love with Beef, the tribe's handsome, macho bully. It turns out that even 35,000 years ago, teenagers struggled with social status, stressed-out parents, and complicated love triangles. Amid all this, Ubu tries to follow his dream of becoming a cave painter, and to win Booga's heart. Being a teenager isn't easy. Being a prehistoric teenager is a whole different challenge. See less
