He's splitting his time between a creative field that brings him joy but very little cash, and an arduous labor job that brings him (very little) cash but no joy. Allen's creative spirit is slowly leaving him, and worse, he's dealing with an extended bout of writer's block as an impending deadline for a play he can't write barrels toward him. One night, upon arriving at his custodian job, Allen sees the new nurse he's been noticing. This nurse, whom he learns is named Beatrice, notices that Allen has noticed her. They notice more about each other, forming a bond in the seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, and months that follow -- falling deeper into one another... In those moments of growing closer, we discover that Beatrice is a travel nurse and will only be at the current assignment for about three more months. Not wanting their moments to become fleeting memories, Beatrice suggests a getaway. Allen, knowing he still hasn't made much progress on the play, feels undeserving of such a trip, but is compelled to embark anyway. Upon being secluded on this getaway trip, Beatrice and Allen's wants, fears, and desires clash. Written by
