This is a question that best friends Christine, Stacy, and Abigail are forced to wrestle with. The girls are known by their classmates as "The Three," and every day during recess, they escape to the woods on the edge of the playground to a world of their own making. Tree stumps become tables, maple leaves become saucers, and acorn tops become teacups. One day, the girls use leaves as towels before returning to class. But these leaves aren't just any leaves. And as the itching sets in part way through their afternoon math lesson, the girls realize that, in some situations, there's no substitute for the real thing. See less
