At Easter Sunday lunch, sister Natalie announces her engagement to Milos which sweeps the violence of the previous night under the carpet. Nada's refusal to accept her son's sexuality causes Branko to ignore the celebrations and confront Tomislav's past abuse. The appearance of Raj at lunch results in Tomislav leaving to reconsider his place in the modern world, so different from his childhood in Serbia. In Tomislav's absence, the family connects over cards and dancing in a fragile moment of peace. The next morning Branko discovers a homophobic slur tagged on the family home which forces father and son to reconcile publicly. In an act of bravery, Nada announces her acceptance of her son with her own broken English graffiti, which prompts Branko to change his mind and stay in Mount Isa a little longer. Written by
