The upbringing was not the best for an insecure girl, so Anna wandered around alone in the forest from the age of 7-8 and got some food wherever she went. She was later accused of theft and being careless with fire, which led to her being prosecuted and declared a danger to society and being placed in Västra Marks mental institution outside Örebro. There she lived imprisoned for 37 years, after which she was transferred to Vaggeryd and Fridhem where she was again able to move freely.
