During a grueling operation, assisted by Dr. Matteo Moreau, they manage to stabilize the patient, but have to leave the bullet in his head. His pregnant wife, Jane Riedl, is faced with the choice of whether to have the bullet removed despite the potential complications. It's not an easy decision. But then it turns out that it's not she, but Marc's former psychologist and brief affair, Daniela Renner, who has the power to decide the patient's life. After all, she is also his therapist.
