Her gender stacked against her, she staged her death early in her life, under the premise that you can only be a rich and successful artist when you're already dead. From each demise was born an entirely new person, an entirely new artist. She was Justine, House of Olympia, Countess Reichenbach, and more. Each of her seven 'personas' represented something entirely different, and allowed her an extraordinary versatility to explore mediums and ways of working so often limited to an artist working within a specific style, context or time. Set between New York City, and Maine, this short film is a tour de force through Colette's seven artistic lives, but anchored by a ritual wherein the artist synchronizes each of her past selves in the creation of a new and final, multiplicitous persona: People of Victory.
