As she writes on her laptop, the barista approaches her. "What are you writing?" Her heart flutters. For months now she'd been ready to get back into the dating scene but didn't know how to go about it. Now she has it - her very own meet-cute. She flashes a smile and gives him a chance. The more they talk, the more they like each other and the more hopeful she becomes. Not coming from the UK, she definitely has had something about her that most of the Steves, Daves, Nicks and Charlies have had an interest in, for better but most likely for worse. So when Xavier comes along, she feels desired, special, seen. But to her, this time it's for the right reasons. He was perfect on paper. He listened, he was smart with money, ambitious, and a little older than her. As they began dating, the butterflies never disappeared. Not until that perfect guy left. The guy who once asked her to cook for her, no longer wanted her kitchen smelling of 'weird' spices and meat. The guy who used to love her style now wished she'd dress 'normally'.
