Then and Now" is a four-part documentary series centered on personal stories, memories, and the tireless work of individuals dedicated to preserving the Livonian language, rituals, and traditions, passing them on from generation to generation. For some, their connection to the Livonians is a matter of coincidence or fate, for others it's a research subject and a lifelong pursuit, while for others still, it's a return to their roots. Some storytellers will be Livonian descendants, some will identify as Livonian, and others may not have a direct connection but are involved with or deeply interested in this culture. Each episode will focus on a different theme, examining both the past and the present. The creators' aim is not to provide a detailed historical account, but to offer a unique "outsider's perspective," capturing individual stories, memories, and viewpoints. See less
