The political prisoners of the Khapra Ward went to hunger strike to protest against the inhuman prison practices that includes brutal torture, low standard food as well as not providing reserved facilities as political prisoners but, following the jailer's order, the prison-guards open fired to the unarmed prisoners which killed seven communist leaders and wounded many others. The film 'Khapra' re-imagines and dramatizes the historic incident mixing fiction and documentary. See less
