Abandoned by his parents at a very young age, Lars grows up in a home marred by violence, abuse, and alcoholism. The harsh realities of his childhood leave deep scars on his wounded heart, leading to severe depression and thoughts of suicide. Life in Greenland is not only hard on Lars; sexual assault, addiction, and suicide are tragically common in the world's least populated country. Just as he is about to give up, Lars suddenly remembers a gift hidden in his suitcase. This gift provides him with unexpected hope and a new reason to fight for a better life. Despite all his pain and sorrow, Lars finds solace in God and learns about forgiveness.
