The film opens in the intimacy of Racha's bedroom, where her scheduled monthly call with her father is about to take place. A heated call ends unresolved and painful to both parties. Racha escapes her room, heading straight for a vinyl hung up on her hallway wall -- this is 'Babaoutai', the slam poem she wrote addressing her dad. To her shock, she finds it has gone missing. Or rather, it comes to life in her apartment: the angry lyrics reenacted through relived memories, abstract representations of an absent father manifest, culminating in a final krump dance between father and daughter as she tries to part with him peacefully.
