Lauren talks about female-founded startups in the US, venture capitalists and their funding choices, the reality of women raising money, and what it is really like to be an entrepreneur. Aalia and Alex play a little of a devil's advocate trying to pin down the problem and finding possible solutions. Lauren had her dream job at NBCUniversal and a steady paycheck but she ditched that to pursue her dream of running the show. She launched an on-demand digital platform that transformed the hiring process in the film industry and became an expert in raising capital. Lauren leads business strategy for Company X Marketing: an experiential agency owned by Elijah Wood's Film, TV and Video Game production house, she assists in business ventures and is the on set producer for the newly released Shudder podcast Visitations, hosted by Daniel Noah and Elijah Wood. She is passionate about advising female owned startups and is here to represent the female capable of anything she puts her mind to. See less
