Spyros Makos, a Canadian-Greek, middle-aged man and the owner of the taverna, is forced to deal with his old, deteriorating father who is unable to feed himself. Eventually, Spyros grows extremely frustrated and resorts to banishing his father from the family table, sending him off into the corner to eat alone.
