The stories that he would tell would be so fantastic that it is hard to separate fact from fiction. What is a fact is that the murders that Shawcross committed rank up there with some of the most horrific ever on record. Shawcross had two different chapters in his life. He was incarcerated in the early 1970s for committing some very brutal murders. Somehow he was paroled in the 1980s which allowed him to embark on another murder spree.
