Pressured by upper echelons, the doctor and his team race against time to find a cure or vaccine to stop the spread of the disease. Testing random individuals for possible antibodies to the virus, they seize upon a small boy, Gannon. Gannon is a profoundly autistic ward of the state, currently in institutional care.
