But a burst water pipe puts a damper on their hopes. While the insurance covers the damage, Antonia and Regina have to pay for the replacement of the dilapidated pipes themselves. However, they lack the necessary income for this, as the noise of the renovations is driving away the hotel guests. The only remaining owner is the capable Karl Feiler, who already actively supported Antonia in turning off the water and is now courting her charmingly. When he realizes that the two women are in financial difficulties, he generously offers them the opportunity to invest in the hotel. Antonia is enthusiastic about this proposal, but Regina remains suspicious - and rightly so. With a little detective work, she discovers that the nice Mr. Feiler is the majority shareholder of a hotel chain that wants to incorporate the "Little Hotel on the Big Lake" into its group. The neighboring hotel belonging to Breitwieser, who is also in financial trouble, is also on Feiler's shopping list. With the help of the corrupt bank director Vorreiter and the venal mayor Flohofer, Feiler plans to drive both hotels into ruin and then buy them cheaply. In addition, runaway Helen is causing a stir at the "Little Hotel on the Big Lake." Thanks to Antonia and Regina's energy, a solution to Helen's worries is found. To avert the impending foreclosure of their hotel, Antonia and Regina join forces with their archenemy Breitwieser. And anyone who has "Bartl" Breitwieser as an enemy is truly to be pitied.
