Alberto's father dissolves the marriage, ...See moreIn a small town, Ana María and her cousin Isabel meet two young men from the capital, Guillermo and Alberto. Although both men fall in love with Ana María, she prefers Alberto and marries him. Alberto's father dissolves the marriage, unaware that Ana María is pregnant. Alberto then marries Giuliana, the woman his father had chosen for him. Ana María suffers from a heart condition, and upon giving birth to her daughter, she is told she might die. In desperation, she entrusts her child to Isabel, asking her to take the baby to Alberto. Believing Ana María to be dead, Alberto asks his wife to adopt the infant. Giuliana grows fond of the child—named Julia—and decides to raise her alongside her own daughter, Evelina, leading everyone to believe they are twins. Ana María recovers and attempts to reclaim her daughter, but Alberto and his family have already left for Europe. Ana María is fortunate enough to meet Maestro Lieberman, a famous pianist who wants her as both a student and a wife. After marrying, they tour Europe, but they return to Mexico following fifteen years of fruitless searching. There, they encounter Alberto, and Ana María must figure out which of the twins is her daughter. See less
