The daughter of a poor but proud Southern gentleman tries to replenish the family exchequer by working in the interests of a certain hair tonic. With her beautiful hair she demonstrates for the traveling agent the marvelous effectiveness of the restorative. Her father, finally discovering why his daughter is absent from home evenings, tries to dissuade her. When he fails to gain his point he backs a hair restorer made by another concern, using his own locks as an advertising medium, and tries to overcome his daughter's willfulness by attempting to put the other concern out of business.
