The daily proximity of the dead forces him to adapt to a lifestyle overshadowed by death. He neither eats,drinks or smokes near the dead bodies; but afterwards, he is like everybody else - driven by a need to live.The film examines the disparity between the significance Gabi infuses his work with, and the mental price that he and his family must pay in dealing with the profession he has chosen. The film describes a very narrow line between the pain and turmoil that accompanies each encounter with death,and the resulting need to embody death with meaning, and between death'sarbitrariness and vagueness, which leave us totally helpless.
