Tom gives Bill a "pep talk" that he has a lot to offer. Bill is confused and has no idea what he should be doing next. Bill tells Tom he was to just disappear and Tom insists that is not the answer. Meanwhile at Sandy's apartment Howard is reading a magazine when the doorbell rings and it is Isabel. Isabel has arrived to say goodbye to Sandy before she leaves to go back to New York. Isabel and Howard discuss their past marriage and Isabel suggest it may have been a mistake to divorce. Howard is taken aback, but tells Isabel that it is too late for a reconciliation. Sandy arrives and Isabel asks her to move to New York once again, but Sandy declines. Isabel says her goodbye and leaves. Howard and Sandy discuss Ann, with Howard hoping to get information about Ann out of Sandy, with no luck. Later that day, Ann has invited Tom over to alert him on the previous night when Jim was over and what a disaster it was. Ann shows Tom the letter Phoebe wrote and tells Tom how Jim reacted.
