He has lived a good majority of his life in a bomb shelter hundreds of feet below the Earth's surface. In order to leave, he needs to prove to himself that he will be able to survive outside, by growing a plant. Unfortunately, his plans are canceled as the Grim Reaper, himself, appears before him to let him know that there is no point in trying. Death is eager to retire and must convince Steve to leave with him or he just might go mad. In order to do this, Death becomes Steve's one and only roommate, aside from a robotic skull that is, in reality, a glorified magic 8-ball. As his roommate, Death decides to be the worst person to share a single-room bunker with. He becomes increasingly more annoying by the day, just so that Steve will give in and accept his fate.
