Lydia, in her early 70's, is determined not to let the final curtain come down on her life too soon. Tori, emotionally damaged by a life of being shuttled from foster home to foster home, never belonging anywhere. With Tori fresh out of an abusive relationship with her former boyfriend, Fowler, Lydia comes into her life at a time when she is needed most. A chance meeting between the two starts a rollercoaster of emotions, expectations and unlikely relationships. Through Lydia's taxi-driver friend, Alan, 45, they meet Burgess, 65, who owns a kickboxing gym, injured when young and unable to compete in the World Championships, he can now fulfil his lifelong dream through Tori. The raw energy and anger bursting to come out of Tori is apparent in her fighting. With the guidance of her new friends, she is nurtured and taught the correct way to fight, channelling the raw strength and determination into technique and grace of Thai kickboxing.
