Tonya and Slava don't have much money, they live paycheck to paycheck, but at least they have their own apartment. Tanya's mother raised her alone and died of a stroke when Tonya was still in college and left her daughter a 1-room apartment. Tonya really wants to have a baby, but Slava convinced her to wait and to save up some money. He works day and night, but there is still not enough money for him. One night Slava awakens Tonya - he looks awful. He accidentally hit a man by car. He is seriously injured, but alive. The stranger lies in a one-bed hospital chamber, his tear-stained girl Alla (23), who requires payment for treatment in Israel, is on his bed. Tonya assures the girl that she and her husband will do everything possible to atone for guilt - Overnight, Tonya is left without money and roof over her head - and deceived by her husband. See less
