However, the student and his wife have a homosexual love. They cheat on him and put him into the jail. The story is told by the husband, who is cheated by his mistress and wife. We made the prison scene and home scene switched to each other to keep the audiences' attention and curiosity. he strong imagery in this film is the hotpot. We used the hotpot in different scenes to indicate the situation of the main characters. Also, hotpot is a strong symbol in Chinese culture. We are telling a Chinese story, so that we put hotpot into the film on purpose to be the classic Chinese element. It's worth mentioning that we used two-flavor hotpot as the prep and the film title. It looks like a "Yin and Yang" which means everything can transform into each other under certain conditions, and checks and balances as well. See less
