The poem was created by Langston Hughes. As an animator I was intrigued by the poem. I wished to capture the meaning of the poem by image. The poems of Mr. Hughes go great in detail. He is truly a master of his time. I like how "The Weary Blues" expresses a broken down man at the end of his luck. The story is about how his life did not turn out as he planned. The poem mentions how he can't be satisfied. I took that to mean that he was on some addiction, perhaps alcohol. The addiction has ruined his life by destroying his music career and severing his family ties. In the short I wanted to reveal the suffering of a life unfolding within this poem. Written by
