Shortly before, Dieter Ahrens checked in and out of the rehab clinic Gerhard took his addict friend to, and may have acquired the poison to avoid being outed. Junior founding business partner and assigned management successor Max Hagner recently informed their staff about Gerhard's illness, possibly afraid that Gerhard might change his will and not 'desinherit' his estranged, adult son David, a car mechanic he recently met with, whose mother Paola Gerhard never quit forgot about despite the separation.
