They meet again at the couple's baby Jamie's christening, and later after both Bill perishes in a car accident leaving Eve comatose, when the testament appoints the startled 'duo' guardians. They accept and move together at Leo's stately home for now, expecting Eve to recover, despite conflicting career priorities : acting (god)father Leo as drone operating rising star in the local TV station, aiming for a surf reporting shot, Nelly as Olympic fencer, trained by Olympic veteran and sport agency owner and father of three adults Patrick Cameron, who took her into his grand home, also with a romantic interest and opposes her godmother priority elsewhere. Sofia returns to Cornwall mobbing in with Tony to take turns at Eve's sickbed and assist Nelly. Truth time arrives when Eve dies, Jamie must either be given up for fostering or adopted full-time by Leo and Nelly, who meanwhile had an affair, which were incompatible with their own ambitions.
