Cipola is plotting revenge after Guy abandoned him, but accepts promise of rich reward. Johan is forbidden entrance and feels side-lined. Guy searches the castle and stumbles upon a parchment the rich nobleman treasures specially, connected to his rise to the aristocracy from seafaring, to the point of promising Rosita's hand if Guy finds it now it's missing, presumed stolen by Johan.
