The film concentrates on Orwell who developed a very broad concept for a new specter of tyranny, a concept that began to show in the twentieth century and has developed into a phenomenon that became known as the totalitarianism. The film also looks at the significant impact which the novel left on thousands of readers around the world, and what phrases and slogans are still included in the novel that help people to understand the power and forms of abuse which are used today.
