Paul's father John is a dyed in the wool, old style republican who is struggling to come to terms with having a gay son not to mention having a son who is a drag queen. Paul and his father John have had somewhat of a tortured relationship. Paul recalls when he was 10 years old his father suggesting that he would throw him out of the house if he continued to behave in such a camp fashion. Paul sees his father as someone who is stuck in the conflicts of the past and feels that it is time for his father to let go and move forward into the future. John struggles to understand Paul. He fears for him as any father would but doesn't completely understand how this new generation that grew up after the conflict in the North have been able to forget the struggles of just a few years ago so completely. While John accepts that Paul is gay he has never really attempted to understand Paul's life as a gay man. This documentary highlights the conflict and compromises between a father and son whilst both undertake their own person journeys to find a deeper understanding of themselves and each other.
