We will look at the life and careers of Dr. Walter Cooper, noted scientist, Dr. David Anderson, gifted story teller and Constance Mitchell, Civil Rights Advocate. Accompanying the documentary will be a printed book of the same name created for distribution to students in the Rochester City School District to encourage reading of local African-American history. The idea is to foster an appreciation and instill pride in the accomplishments of people of color that have over come many obstacles and barriers in life. People who have inspired us and educated us. People from a variety of backgrounds who have helped make our community stronger. Walter Cooper, PhD (born July 18, 1928 in Clairton, Pennsylvania) is an American scientist, humanitarian, activist, and educator. Primarily a research scientist, he was also heavily involved in civil rights work both in Rochester, New York and in Mali. Written by
