What is missing from international coverage is a grassroots forum that gives voice to Haitian citizens. "A Soapbox in Haiti" is a nomadic speaker series that champions the resiliency of the Haitian people. Filming took place in villages, towns, and cities all over Haiti during the latter half of September 2010. Residents of Haiti who have been pre-selected through a comprehensive process delivered speeches, each on a topic significant to the region where the speaker lives. These topics include sustainable development, women's empowerment, arts and culture, child advocacy, ecology, agriculture, education, and health education and disease prevention. Written by
