They are professional footballers - and they are unemployed. The spotlight shines on stars and arenas, but here are substantial things at stake. The workers union holds the camp for those in need and reminds those young men that their biography will be a split one. The career lasts only a few years - and then life starts. Talent, will, luck - it seems to be not enough for the very top, though they still hope for the breakthrough. And even if their football dream becomes reality, it turns out to be an employment relationship and often only part time labor. THE OTHER FIELDS accompanies several young men at the crucial turning point in their lives. They try to maintain their dreams in a system that deploys failure as the normal case.
