Toni explains to Mike the innocence of her kiss with Vito, and the two reconcile. Matt informs Althea that he spoke with Nick, but to no avail. Althea confides to Maggie that despite Nick's unwillingness to give John the benefit of the doubt, she'll take Matt's advice and leave John for Nick in one month. After reading a newspaper article detailing Webb Sutherland's hospitalization at Municipal for a blood disorder, Toni realizes that Vito must have known where Webb was all along. John practices walking in his locked office with Cathy's help. He insists that he's got to improve nerve function because he's still impotent. At that moment, Nick arrives and begins to bang on the office door. John makes it back to the wheelchair, and Nick barges in, accusing him of faking his paralysis. Before John can protest, his walker falls out of the closet and onto the floor. Nick takes it as positive proof of John's deception, but John quickly lies that the he's keeping the walker as motivation for his future goal of walking again. Enraged, Nick grabs him out of the wheelchair, screaming that John will walk for him. A horrified Althea arrives to see Nick's physical tirade and leaps to John's defense. Furious, Nick storms out.
