The story begins as a father and daughter team attempt to chronicle their journey to reach the highest point in every state. But the quest turns more serious as they learn Wyoming's Gannett Peak is deep in wilderness territory. When the father becomes injured, his daughter forges ahead with a group of climbers - among them, an accomplished teenage rock climber who is challenged by a disability. The film themes are adventure, perseverance, youthful coming-of-age, triumph over adversity and wilderness appreciation and preservation. The film includes stunning scenic cinematography of the rarely seen Wind River Range in Wyoming. Filmmakers were the first to be granted a commercial film permit for Wyoming's Fitzpatrick Wilderness.
