John and Althea talk about Nick's desire to move them out and a playmate in, and Althea laughs it off as bluster on Nick's part because he's hurt and angry. Maggie drops by Althea's with a wedding gift. Althea cautions Maggie to watch out for Karen, though Maggie thinks their problems over Matt are in the past. Dan barges into Steve's office trying to catch Carolee there and says he knows they were together because he was the one who phoned and hung up. Dan doesn't believe Steve's explanation that Carolee came to see him about Erich. Steve is outraged when Dan speculates that Steve would lose his hold over Carolee if she were to miscarry his child.
