Hopheads, A Beer Story, is about none other than the world's oldest recreational beverage and the people who love to drink it. Unfortunately for those Hopheads in Alabama, they are unable to legally buy many of the best beers in the world. The reason is because of strict laws that were afterthoughts of prohibition, and they have stuck till 2008. Under Alabama law, beer cannot be sold in anything larger than a pint, and cannot exceed 6% alcohol buy volume. What is a Hophead to do in this situation? Well, they get organized, and fight to get the beer they so desire. The film focuses on Free the Hops, an incorporated grassroots organization, who are lobbying to change the legislation concerning beer.
