Her songs are poems that talk of the ashes of the myth of the cultural revolution. The story of her vagabond life is a portrait of modern-day China, from the importance of consumerism to the increasing loss of values in this country which is undergoing major transformation. Xiao Pengke grew up with the fear of being a woman in a system in which the destiny of girls seems to already be written.
