However, VJ refuses to forgive him and nearly moves out. John and Marilyn meet with their legal aid lawyer, Lachlan Piers, but it is clear he doesn't care if John's telling the truth or not, just in making sure the jury believe it. Roo calls Morag, who offers John her help. Phoebe is worried her engagement party is going to be a flop but is buoyed by a visit from an old musician friend, Donna Fields. Donna isn't entirely happy with Phoebe's new life and convinces her to sing at the party. Irene sees Roo getting a call from James: Roo claims it is the real estate agent.
