Justin chats to Kat about fighting for custody and she advises him to take a step back and let Nina cool off. However, Phoebe has already sent Nina an inflammatory message. She and Justin go and see a lawyer who thinks they have no chance but Nina then calls wanting a meeting. Kat finds the lighter and discovers the petrol came from the surf club; Murray tells her John's fingerprints were found on the lighter and at other scenes. John grows increasingly distracted, losing his temper twice with Marilyn and also with Raffy when she leaves a bottle on the beach, and finally collapses fitting. Marilyn phones an ambulance.
