After being in debt by building fairy tale castles, the eccentric King Ludwig II is forced out of his beloved Neuschwanstein Castle in Schwangau, Germany when he is certified as mad by Dr. Bernhard von Gudden. Dunrobin Castle in Golspie, Scotland, is said to be haunted by the ghost of Lady Margaret, the Earl of Sutherland's daughter, after an attempt to elope with her lover goes terribly wrong. During World War II, secret tunnels under Dover Castle in Dover, England, become the headquarters of Vice-Admiral Bertram Ramsay as he plans the rescue of 300,000 Allied soldiers trapped on the beaches of Dunkirk, France, known as Operation Dynamo.
