When her aunt has had enough of her niece's free-spirited lifestyle she kicks her out of the house, giving her husband, Rachel's quiet-spoken uncle, little say on the matter. Rachel is left to figure it out on her own, but quickly runs into Skeeter, a washed-up movie star whose life is surprisingly similar to hers.
