The dead man is journeyman Kurt Keppler, who was hired by the Waldhofer carpentry shop to repair the roof of the house. Hubert and Staller visit the carpentry shop and speak with the excitable boss, Friedrich Waldhofer, who also suffers from a heart condition. Although he appears shocked by Keppler's murder, he is simultaneously taciturn and suspicious of the police. Waldhofer's pretty daughter Julia is more approachable, but claims not to know much about the victim. A lie - because Hubert and Staller quickly realize that Julia was having an affair with the murdered man. And this despite the fact that she is engaged to the attractive tennis instructor Florian Reif. Reif, however, has a watertight alibi: He was with Sabrina Rattlinger at the time of the crime. This, in turn, displeases Hubert, who, since his contact with bull pheromones, has unusually had an eye for the female sex. Hubert and Staller become aware of bull breeder Bernd Geiger, who makes no secret of his anger at the murdered Keppler. During renovation work on the farm, Geiger had sealed the nostrils of his best breeding bull - which led to a total loss of virility, or rather, bullishness. A motive for murder? Hubert and Staller are convinced of it. But Geiger also has an alibi, albeit an absurd one... That leaves journeyman Charly Nägele, who was briefly on the road with the victim. But her statement also leads to a dead end. The investigators see no other way out than to plant a mole in the Waldhofer carpentry shop. A job for Riedl. Although his craftsmanship is a complete disaster, he quickly stumbles upon an interesting lead. Written by ARD Das Erste See less
