The story follows a path divided in three movements - the Passion of Christ, Death, and Resurrection. In the initial movement, the firing squad advances to remove the crucifix; they uproot Him from the ground, completely impassive to the cries of the old man writhing in pain. It is a group of eleven people, including townsmen and men at the very pinnacle of the hierarchy of power. A cardinal is the front runner of this ordeal. After having removed Him from the crucifix, one of these townsmen - a young disabled - moves towards Christ with a pistol and shoots Him in the ribs. Well concealed among the ruins, a witness - the thirteenth individual - observes in silence without intervention. His identity will be revealed only at the end. The second movement opens on the image of the mercy of Christ in agony. Once the old man's body was loaded on an iron stretcher, the procession to the Holy Sepulcher begins. The aged Christ will be placed alive in a crystal coffin which will be hermetically sealed. "Here is the man", the cardinal will say, glaring at him through the crystal. Left alone to die, Christ will breathe his last breath. The third movement, the "resurrection", takes place at night. Christ opens His eyes - He is risen - but He will not have the strength to get out of the coffin. He squirms, strikes the coffin, and screams. The witness finally exposes itself. The sound of his footsteps get confused with the rumble of the city's nightly tumult, his hands rest on the lid of the coffin, their eyes meet, and without a warning, ensues what we cannot imagine.
